Do you have

Any Questions

From the moment you first contact us—whether through the website, over the phone, or through email—your information is completely confidential. No one will know you have contacted us. The privacy of your information is absolute with very few exceptions, which will be thoroughly covered during our first meeting. At no time will ANY of your information be shared with ANYONE without your explicit knowledge beforehand. Unless a true emergency exists information shared between and before our meetings will be limited solely to information needed for scheduling purposes.
Unless specifically planned otherwise, expect our first session to be in a traditional office setting in the basement of Shady Oaks Baptist Church (1336 Cavender Drive in Hurst) where we can begin to frame the reasons for counseling and cover some basic introductory material. Subsequent to that first meeting, any activity or location that does not significantly distract from our purpose can be incorporated into our meetings.
If you have access to the internet, we can meet over our secure videoconferencing link provided by WeCounsel. During the current pandemic, we can connect via other means (Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, or phone), provided you are willing to acknowledge the potential confidentiality risks of using these methods.
We will likely begin the first session with a question such as, “What brings you here today?” This will begin an exploration of both the problem and the goals for counseling, which will define what we are striving to accomplish through our time together. At times, this may mean delving into painful subject matter; however, the open and supportive environment will provide a safe, secure place from which to heal.
Recognizing that there are various degrees of comfort (and baggage!) with Scripture, direct reference to the Bible will be in alignment with your specific desires. You can rest assured that you will NOT hear that your problem is that you are not spiritual enough or that you do not have enough faith.
If you are comfortable with prayer, it will be incorporated into most sessions, usually to close our time together.
Session length is planned for 45-50 minutes and will rarely go beyond an hour unless we are at a critical point in the conversation.
Our mission strives to ensure therapeutic, professional-level counseling is available for everyone. The starting fee for Licensed Professional Counselors is $100 a session and the fee for a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate is $80 a session. If the standard rate doesn’t match your financial situation, we’ll gather more information to assess the level of discount you are eligible for. We accept cash, checks, and credit/ debit card payments in the office. We can also send you a payment link to securely pay online if you prefer. We are currently not set up for insurance billing.
The easiest way to schedule is to click this link to schedule an appointment, which will take you to our secure scheduling portal, giving you all the options you need to schedule a time that is convenient to you. Other options are to call to schedule with George at (682) 422-6722 or Natalie at (682) 422-6716. You can also email us at workshopcounseling@protonmail.com (our secure email server).
